Psychological safety is the bedrock of high-performing teams, underpinning trust, engagement, and innovation. However, safety is not experienced equally; it is deeply shaped by power dynamics, systemic equity, and the silent question of whose voices are truly valued. While many organizations strive for "open-door policies," women and gender-diverse individuals often encounter subtle, persistent barriers that undermine their safety—from frequent interruptions and microaggressions to biased performance expectations and exclusion from the informal networks where decisions are made.
In this Curated Leadership session, we dive into these dynamics using practical insights and real-world data from our work in the field. We move beyond surface-level definitions to explore how the "motherhood penalty" and the "likability trap" create friction points that cause diverse talent to stall or exit the pipeline.
Led by our women-of-colour facilitators with data-backed expertise, this session provides the tools to move from intention to impact. You will learn targeted strategies to build a culture of radical respect where all team members feel empowered to voice ideas without fear, receive objective feedback, and feel authentically championed in their development. Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic calendar — a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community for Muslims around the world. As colleagues and leaders, being mindful of what this month means and what it asks of those observing it is one of the most tangible ways we can demonstrate inclusive leadership in action.
Commitment to learning matters. Taking the time to understand what Ramadan involves — the significance of the fast, the importance of iftar, the role of prayer, and the spiritual weight of the month — signals to your Muslim coworkers that their faith and identity are respected in the workplace, not just tolerated.
The workplace adjustments required during Ramadan are often small. A shift in meeting times, a flexible start to the day, a quiet space for prayer. But the cultural shift required to make those adjustments feel normal and unremarkable is where the deeper work lives. That is the work of inclusive leadership.
In this workshop, you will take away practical, actionable ideas on how to create a work environment that genuinely supports Muslim colleagues during Ramadan and beyond. You will leave with a clearer understanding of what accommodation looks like in practice, how to have respectful and informed conversations with your team, and how to build workplace policies and everyday habits that make religious inclusion a lived reality — not just a line in an equity statement.
Anti-Black racism is a unique and pervasive experience affecting people of African descent. It is rooted in a complex web of beliefs, attitudes, prejudices, and systemic stereotyping that specifically targets individuals who identify as, or are perceived to be, of African descent. In the workplace, these dynamics often manifest as invisible barriers—from biased hiring and promotion practices to the daily weight of microaggressions and the "tax" of navigating environments not built for Black success.
This Curated Leadership workshop invites participants to move beyond surface-level awareness and into meaningful allyship. We begin by celebrating the richness of Black stories and the profound achievements of Black leaders, creating a space that honors excellence while being honest about the challenges. We dive deep into the specific biases that impact our Black colleagues, exploring how systemic exclusion hinders both individual growth and organizational innovation.

Luksa: A Healing Space for Filipino Community Members + Friends

Join us for a Community Healing space for Filipino community members, family, and friends to gather in remembrance, grief, and collective care. As we honour the lives lost during the Lapu-Lapu Day festival vehicle attack in Vancouver, BC, we come together to support one another, hold space for our pain, and collective healing as we begin to process this tragedy alongside the community.
This is a space open to all - whether you are mourning, seeking connection, or simply needing to be held in community. A short opening guided meditation will be followed by an open forum to share experiences and feelings.
Attendance is free. Optional donations will go toward a charity supporting Filipino communities in Vancouver, BC.
